10. MECHANICS OF SPEAKING AND WRITING Mechanics of speaking like pronunciation, stress, accent, tone, turn-taking, and pause, regulates the grammatical
components of language in its oral form in any situational and cultural contexts. In oral form, spontaneous overflow
of expressions and immediate response to the speaker/listener stimulates to vary and change the degree of the use of
grammar. In written form, mechanics of writing like comma, colon, semicolon, quotations, and ellipsis should be
properly inserted to reveal the meaning of the sentence. Language users seldom use the apt punctuation marks.
Spelling and punctuation errors are the common properties that all the students have unduly inherited. Writing
apt spelling of words remains to be a tedious task to most of the students. The use of capitalization and punctuation
marks need to be properly understood by all the students and should apply it in the proper way. Nowadays, the
students are seldom aware about placing capital letters for the starting letter of the sentence. It is very disgusting to
see that they never bother about putting capital letter for the proper nouns too. Sometimes they write their own name
and nation starting with small letters. Even the first person pronoun is seen written as „iam‟ instead of „I am‟.
„English‟ is spelt as „english‟ and „grammar‟ as „grammer‟ despite the efforts of the teachings of English teacher.
The peak of paralysis is eventually seen when they never capitalize the first letter of their single or compound
names. These reckless writing errors are extended when they use mobiles and computers too.
11. CONCLUSION Structural components play a prominent role in the making of grammar, lexis, syntax and pronunciation. Grammar is
no more static; it is temporal and could be modified according to the language use. The appropriateness of the
structure through generative, transformational and pragmatic trait of grammar is both incidental and accidental in its
interactional situations. Situational English comprises formal, informal and colloquial English according to its use.
Situations and contexts play a prominent role in interaction and communication where the language is shaped and
modified in its course of action. Structural use of language is unpredictable unless it is ingrained through its property
of appropriateness. Due to divergent varieties of native and non-native English, appropriate use of structures should
be practiced and to be followed up in interactional and functional use of both language and communication. Thus
this study reviews multidisciplinary factors that influence the use and usage of native and non-native varieties of
English and reflects on the linguistic issues, changes and variation in context to its international use.
