CM Usthad got his primary education from his father Muhamed Kunchi Musliyar bin Abdulla al Jamhari, a verily-respected scholar of that time. Muhammed Kunchi Musliyar served as mudarris for 25 years, along with that he served as Qāḍi of several adjoining villages (mahllu). Many people came to this pious scholar seeking spiritual refuge and his residence was like a traditional court from where all problems were solved. He was grown up under the nurturing of parents and later when he was eligible to join madrasa his father sent him to madrasa (now this madrasa in known as Dirayathul Islam Madrasa)73

CM Ustahd describes the experience of first day of his schooling he remembers writes in his autobiography, “the students were studying by using the slates, which was made by mixed lime and polished in a plane timber, then it was used to write as slate. For writing students used pen called qalam. In this way, he studied his first step of education”

After when he completed his primary education his father was unwilling to send him to school but following the request of his wife, he agreed him to continue the study in the nearest school of father’s dars in Oravangara, and same time he was studying from his father’s dars in Orabangara with his younger brother. The school was in Kiyoor Madam, the name of that school was primary school Kalanad Olga.74

It was difficult to return home to have lunch and return to school because school was very far from his house. Therefore, he was going to the house of Kunchi Kalandar -one of his father’s friends-to have lunch. However, his education did not last atleast one year completely. However, he was shifted to mother’s house in Talangara, because when his leg was wounded and he was suffered from serious problems he compelled to bring to Kasargod for better treatment.75

To extinguish his thirst of knowledge he went to Muizzul Islam School in Thalangara. In that, time the school was up to eighth class. He joined to second class. They selected four students among the total students. Unfortunately, C.M Usthād was not selected in that list in first attempt thus he got upset, suddenly the headmaster came and checked the students whether they are capable to next class or not. Thus after while, he pointed out to C.M Usthād and said the teachers to include this child also in that list. C.M Usthād in his biography says that this position got him only by his silent, calm and good nature. For his good and well conduct, the teacher was often calling good boy. Thus he continued his school carrier until he complete SSLC.
