As can be seen from the table, if we look at the dynamics of the heritage of the population in Azerbaijan from 2010 to 2013, we can see that, although there is a decrease in migration in general, it is more pronounced in urban areas. Thus, in general, the dynamics of migration in the country decreased by 2.4 thousand people. While the dynamics of migration in cities decreased by 3.9 thousand people, the dynamics of migration in rural areas increased by 1.5 thousand people. Even though in 2006 and 2007 there was a decrease in the dynamics of heritage in the country as a whole, in rural areas it was characterized by an increase. Since 2008, Azerbaijan has witnessed an increase in the population's international heritage, much of which has been at the expense of cities. Even in 2016, there was a decrease in the dynamics of inheritance in rural areas (-0.3 thousand people).

Studies show that the majority of migrants are young boys. Although in the former Soviet Union, the central statistical organizations kept records of the age and sex composition of the migrating population, the recent shortcomings in this field in our country have led to the lack of comprehensive materials in the field. The experience of advanced countries shows that there is a direct link between the study of the age and sex composition of citizens of migrating countries and the pace of economic development in various sectors of the economy. It is the structural changes observed in the age and sex composition of the migrating population that allow to determine the demographic characteristics of the country, as well as to assess the processes taking place in the economic and social life of society.
