*Teacher-Student Interactions
Note: The T is an active participant in the activity where s/he interacts with one 
or two Sts. The T asks the first group of questions and lets the Sts ask her/him or 
each other questions in the later stages of the activity. 
 
*Student-Student Interactions
Note: The T is mainly a passive observant who only interferes if Sts are stuck. 
Both questions and answers are exchanged between students. 
 
*Group work
Note: The T is mainly a passive observant who only interferes when Sts cannot 
reach an agreement or the rules related to the studied topic are misinterpreted.

Background

*Students already covered Simple Present and Past Tenses

Now, they are learning about household chores, and the T focuses on 
combining chores with different verbs. So far, they have learned the following 
combinations:

*Before introducing more chores and structures with this activity, the T wants to 
identify the gaps in each student’s knowledge so that s/he can make the 
necessary instructional adjustments. 
*Students are placed in groups of three, and they are asked to first talk about 
their usual responsibilities related to household chores and then to share with 
their friends what they had to do during the weekend. 
*To be able to provide student-specific feedback, the T decides to use an
