NAMES Names Is there any tradition about naming babies? In my country, I guess not because people just choose their favorite names for their babies or pets. But in some other countries such as the US, people name their babies according to the father’s name and sometimes father and son have the same name and people use Junior and senior to call them.
How do you choose names for your next generation? I’d opt for a name which is meaningful, probably not too long. If a name is too long, people start to shorten it, which is a common thing in my country and I don’t like it.
Do you like your name? Yes and no. For one thing, I love it because my name is a huge part of my identity. But sometimes, when I hear cool names of other people, I just be like ‘well, I wish I had a cool name like this’. But in general, I like my name.
Would you like to change your name? I don’t think so because if I do that, I know that it will take me some time to get used to hearing it when other say it. I believe it’s going to be very strange.
Do people in your country ever change their names? Honestly, I haven’t come across anyone who’s ever changed their names. But I saw people do it many times in movies. For example, when people decide to cut their ties with their families and stuff or to have a fresh start in life, people change their names in movies but in real life I guess it’s not the case.
What name do people at home call you? Well, sometimes they just say my name as it is but some other times, they may shorten it a little. Also, when my mom calls me, she doesn’t even use my name at all, she just says daughter.
WEATHER What’s the weather usually like in your hometown? It, of course, depends on the season. I’d say our summer and winter are quite extreme as my hometown is located in a deserted area. In summer it’s scorching hot while in winter it’s very freezing. But in spring the weather is usually moderate.
