Rickman acted in many different genres of film and performed in worldwide theatres. Some of the films he starred in were “Love Actually” and the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood. However he is most commonly known for playing “Snape” in Harry Potter.
Rickman’s death hugely affected the world of theatre. Laura Glover the interim director’s office assistant said “The National Theatre was very glad to have Alan perform here in Antony and Cleopatra in 1998 as Mark Antony with Helen Mirren as Cleopatra and he had been a great friend of the theatre ever since. We all felt his loss very keenly as I’m sure did all of the British Theatre and he will be greatly missed on our stages.”
Local English teacher and fan of Alan, Laura Clash, said “I think it’s going to hugely effect the world of acting because he’s an excellent actor he was in a range of different genres of film. He was an inspiration to many young actors.”
