Dear Family & Friends,
I am a [Enter] year Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras (WYSO) member. I play [Enter] in the [Enter] Orchestra. The WYSO program supports three full orchestras and one string orchestra. There are approximately 360 student members from fourth to twelfth grade. We rehearse each Saturday during the school year for about three hours. Each orchestra performs several concerts throughout the year.
Since it’s inception in 1966 by Professor Marvin Rabin of the University of Wisconsin-Extension Music Department over 5000 young musicians from more than 100 communities in southern Wisconsin have participated in WYSO. Students who successfully audition into the WYSO program make a commitment to music and make the program what it is today.
Musical Notes Campaign
WYSO is requesting donations for their annual fundraising event, the Musical Notes Campaign. The current annual tuition covers about 30% of the cost for each member. Tuition ranges from $500-$625 per student. The chamber music program is an additional $200 per student. With your help we can keep the annual tuition affordable for all WYSO members.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation, made payable to “WYSO”. The WYSO program is a not-for-profit organization, depending upon many diverse constituencies for its financial stability. I have enclosed a self-addressed, stamped envelope, along with a donation form. The campaign runs through February 2013. Once the campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement statement from WYSO for tax purposes.
Thank you,

“I really enjoy participating in WYSO. The program challenges me, not only in the music, but it makes me step out of my comfort zone. I meet new people from different backgrounds and musical talents.
That is why I love music.”
