Annual central asia sustainable development program

DKU invites all interested parties to participate in our annual program exploring the sustainable

development of Central Asia. Our program will not only deepen your knowledge of Central Asia,

but also allow you to explore the local colorful culture and make new friends.

During  the  program  participants  learn  the  fundamentals  of  sustainability  with  a  Central  Asia

regional  focus  on  the  economic,  social,  and  ecological  aspects  of  sustainable  development.

Specific  modules  explore  sectors  in  greater  detail,  such  as  resource  management,  policy,  and

energy. Participants learn examples from Central Asia to enhance the course in conjunction with

best practices and examples from around the world. 

Advanced participants have the opportunity to complete an internship or can choose to complete

a research project in collaboration with local experts. Both options will receive support from the

DKU scientific staff to monitor the work and provide local assistance. 

The  scientific  activities  of  the  DKU  are  aimed  at  contributing  to  the  sustainable  development  of

Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region. A distinctive feature of DKU is the close interweaving of

research and practice-oriented learning. The university is actively pursuing the expansion of basic

and applied research on the basis of research institutes.
